Notes from the bench
Two short watches
The dog watches split 16:00 to 20:00 into two shifts of two hours, so the rotation moves and everyone gets supper. The yellow bezel segment covers those four hours. Set the bezel to a second time zone and the segment moves with it. A few owners use it as a reminder for a daily call home.
A real GMT
The Sellita SW330-2 lets you jump the local hour hand forward or back without stopping the seconds, which is what you want after a flight. The fourth hand with the yellow tip keeps home time on the 24-hour bezel.
How it fits
It is 1 mm wider and 1.2 mm thicker than the Middle 39. It looks better on wrists over 7 inches. Under that, we’d point you to the Middle 39.
Every reference ships with a sailcloth strap. Sam cuts them from sails retired by Hollis Sails, the loft downstairs, so no two have quite the same weave.
